A versatile bolognese which can be served with spaghetti or pasta or layered and topped with white sauce & cheese to make a tasty lasagne.

Ingredients:

Olive oil
1 tbsp Garlic puree
2 large onion, sliced
2 red pepper, diced
800g pack beef mince (tesco value!)
1 tin chopped tomatoes
1 carton sieved tomatoe passata
1 beef oxo
1 Italian oxo
1 tbsp Tomatoe puree
1 tbsp Worstershire sauce
250g mushrooms, sliced
1/4 pint milk
Directions:
  1. Heat a little oil in a large pan, add the garlic puree, onions & peppers and stir until starting to soften.

  2. Add the minced beef, brown while breaking up and turning as needed.

  3. Add the tomatoes, passata, oxos, tomatoe puree & worstershire sauce. Stir until well combined and bubbling.

  4. Add the mushrooms & the milk, stir well and let simmer slowly for around 20 minutes, stirring occasionally.

  5. Serve as required.
