Fluffy soft dinner rolls Hits: 1

No Image

Description:
This is a dough recipe that can either be left in the bread machine to make a large loaf, or taken out to make wonderfully soft dinner rolls.

You will need a machine with a large capacity if just making the loaf.

Prep. Time:
Ingredients:

15 floz water
1 1/2 lb unbleached white bread flour
2 tsp salt
1 1/2 tbsp granulated sugar
1 1/2 oz butter
1 1/2 tsp easy-blend dried yeast

flour for dusting
oil for greasing
Directions:
  1. Put all the ingredients in the bread pan in the order stated. Set machine to dough setting and turn on.

  2. (If just making the loaf of bread, just set the machine to the basic bread setting and turn on)

  3. Pre-heat oven to 160C and place a pan (I use a large roasting tin) of water in the bottom of the oven to create steam.

  4. Remove the dough from the machine when the dough cycle has finished and knock back gently on a floured surface.

  5. Cut in to 16 pieces, roll each piece in to a fairly large roll shape and place on a lightly oiled tray. Put 8 rolls to a tray and put them close enough that they will slightly touch when risen.

  6. Cover with lightly oiled clear film and leave in a warm place for 30-60 minutes until very well risen and touching.

  7. Bake for 14-16 minutes, turning half way, until golden & risen but still soft.
